Update:

The Phoenix Suns are perhaps the opposite story to the two sides who made it to the NBA Finals this season. Having spent a bucket-load of cash, they flopped spectacularly, putting in dreary performance after dreary performance.

As a result of their failings at all levels, it has been rumoured that the Suns have lowered their asking price for star man Kevin Durant.

Durant, 36, is said to be top of the transfer list in Phoenix, who are looking at trade options for the forward and a chance at regaining some form of control in the upcoming Draft, where they will start 10th.

The Athletic reported that on team in particular is keen on a deal: “Since the conclusion of the season, Houston has fielded several calls from Phoenix, who have since gradually lowered their asking price for Durant. There is a price where the Rockets would be interested, but with a fear of breaking up their roster for a 36-year-old coming off injury, doubt remains over a deal materializing.”

It was also recently claimed by Shams Charania that all of the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs have shown interest in bringing Durant to their franchise. “Back at the NBA trade deadline in February, Minnesota, Miami, New York, San Antonio and Houston were among the team, I’m told, there was mutual interest between Durant and those teams. I expect those teams and potentially other to be back in the fray this summer”, Charania said.

And then there are also the Hawks, with Sam Amico of Hoops Wire saying the possibility has been discussed. “One league source told Hoops Wire not to be surprised if the Hawks get involved in the Kevin Durant sweepstakes... team ownership has already inquired internally about Durant.”
