2025 NFL Draft Day 1 Done!
And that’ll conclude the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft! Thanks so much for joining us at AS USA and have a great night!
Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
Simmons missed most of the Buckeye’s title winning season after tearing his patellar tendon early in the season. His year at San Diego State and two 19 games over two years at Ohio State were enough to know that this kid was one of the top lineman in this draft class. He didn’t work out in the combine, but should be ready for the start of the 2025 season.
Chiefs select Josh Simmons 32nd overall!
With the 32nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select…
OT Josh Simmons - Ohio State
ON THE CLOCK: Kansas City Chiefs
with the 32nd overall and FINAL pick in the first round of the 2025 Draft
Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
The Crimson Tide linebacker was one of those guys who was everywhere for Alabama this year, and boy did they need it. He’s one of those guys that is involved on almost every tackle, or at least in frame and that should come as no surprise considering he ran a 4.52 40 yard dash at 6’3 and 235 pounds. He’s got no problem putting pressure on the QB and is an effective defender when it comes to deflecting passes over the middle. After a 2024 season that had 119 tackles, 55 solo tackles, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, he went to the operating room to have surgery on a torn labrum after the combine, but should recover and look like the dominant force he was at Alabama.
Eagles select Jihaad Campbell 31st overall!
With the 31st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the PhiladelphiaEagles select…
LB Jihaad Campbell - Alabama
ON THE CLOCK: Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles swapped with the Chiefs for the 31st pick in the 2025 Draft
Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky
Hairston is the fastest player in this draft, and that will always win you some points on draft day. He ran a 4.28 40 yard dash and a 1.5 second 10 yard split. He is explosive, and has tremendous make up speed. He’s 5’11” but what he lacks in size he makes up for with playmaking ability. He had three pick sixes, and could be used as a punt or kick returner. His numbers aren’t incredible, but he did have 19 tackles, 15 of them were solos, he intercepted just one pass which he took for a TD, and broke up four passes.
Bills select Maxwell Hairston 30th overall!
With the 30th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the BuffaloBills select…
CB Maxwell Hairston - Kentucky
ON THE CLOCK: Buffalo Bills
with the 30th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon
While it’s not the most important thing for an offensive lineman, having the fastest 10 yard split in the draft is worth a little something. He may not have the longest arms, but his movement off the snap and his agility combined with his ability to get down field and block at the second level is a big plus.
Commanders select Josh Conerly Jr. 29th overall!
With the 29th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders select…
OT Josh Conerly Jr. - Oregon
Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
Williams was a pass rush specialist in 3rd down situations, but was one of the best run defenders on the Buckeyes National Championship team. He’s 334 pounds and clog up space on the line when teams try and double team him. He had 5.5 sacks and 18 tackles for a loss in the last two seasons with Ohio State.
ON THE CLOCK: Washington Commanders
with the 29th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Lions select Tyleik Williams 28th overall!
With the 28th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select…
DT Tyleik Williams - Ohio State
Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
Starks was a national champion in his first year as a started at Georgia, and over the last few seasons became one of the best safeties in the game. He had 197 tackles, deflected 23 passes and picked off six balls in this three years in Athens. He’s got a good grasp of how to read the WR, and is always peeking at the QB and waiting to pounce. He can wonder up and make plays in the run game, but will miss a tackle here and there. He joins a Ravens franchise that has plenty of history with legendary defenders. Is Starks the next one up?
ON THE CLOCK: Detroit Lions
with the 28th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Ravens select Malaki Starks 27th overall!
With the 27th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select…
S Malaki Starks - Georgia
James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
If you like freaks at the EDGE position, don’t look any further than James Pearce Jr. This dude is tall, strong and fast. At 6’5” he is going to create problems for anyone he goes up against and he ran a sub 4.5 40 yard dash and his 10 yard split was the quickest of any EDGE. He had 38 tackles, 23 solos and registered 7.5 sacks which was two less than he as last year, but this kid has serious potential and is only going to get better with age.
ON THE CLOCK: Baltimore Ravens
with the 27th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Falcons select JAMES PEARCE JR. 26th overall!
With the 26th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Atlanta Falcons select…
EDGE James Pearce Jr. - Tennessee
Jaxson Dart, QB, Ole Miss
All the talk coming into the Draft was about Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, but there has been less chatter about the QB who is considered the 3rd best signal caller in this class. He’s got great pocket presence and those short to medium passes are his sweet spot. When things break down he can extend plays, and move out of the pocket having rushed for 1,500 yards and 12 TDs in his three year career at Ole Miss. He’s a dual threat, but can pass the ball from the pocket with the best of them. He had 4,279 passing yards, 29 TDs and just 6 INTs which tells you he has elite decision making ability even when he’s on the move. I wonder what Shedeur Sanders is thinking right now.
ON THE CLOCK: Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons are moving back into the first round at the 26th spot (traded with Los Angeles Rams)
Giants select JAXSON DART 25th overall!
With the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select…
QB Jaxson Dart - Ole Miss
Donovan Jackson, OG, Ohio State
Jackson was part of the National Championship winning team, and went through the entire title process over the last few years. He started 30 games, playing most at left guard for a team that was a run heavy side, especially in 2024. He can open up holes on the line and move down the field into the second level and holds his own in pass protection. The 6’4” 315 pounder is going to be protecting a Michigan Wolverine in JJ McCarthy, so they will have to bury the hatchet when it comes to the Michgan-Ohio State rivalry.
Details of the Giants trade
Giants have traded the Texans for the 25th overall pick
Texans get 34th, 99th, and 2026 3rd-round pick
Will the Giants take Shedeur or Jaxson??
ON THE CLOCK: New York Giants
The New York Giants have traded up with the Houston Texans for the 25th pick in the 2025 Draft
Vikings select DONOVAN JACKSON 24th overall!
With the 24th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the MinnesotaVikings select…
G Donovan Jackson - Ohio State
ON THE CLOCK: Minnesota Vikings
with the 24th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
Golden’s top weapon is his ability to get off the line in a hurry and easy into his routes. He isn’t the biggest or strongest of the WRs in the draft but his soft hands and his prices route running makes him one of the most attractive WRs in the class, and to top it off he’s got a sub 4.3 40 yard dash time. Speedy Texas receivers have shown they can make the jump to the next level, and after catching 58 balls for 987 yard and 9 TDs last year he is going to try be the next Longhorn looking to make an impact in a Xavier Worthy type role.
Packers select MATTHEW GOLDEN 23rd overall!
With the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select…
WR Matthew Golden - Texas
ON THE CLOCK: Green Bay Packers
with the 23rd overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
We’ve all heard plenty about Ashton Jeanty, but believe it or not he’s not the only running back in the draft. Omarion Hampton was third in the NCAA with 1,660 yards rushing and scored 15 TDs. He doesn’t’ mind running between the tackles, and is known as a power back who can break tackles and extend plays. He had 1,026 yards after contact and ran a 4.46 at 6’0” 221 pounds. Not only does he like to get his hands dirty between the tackles, but he has great hands and is a savy pass blocker.
Chargers select Omarion Hampton 22nd overall!
With the 22nd overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers select…
RB Omarion Hampton - North Carolina
ON THE CLOCK: Los Angeles Chargers
with the 22nd overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Derrick Harmon, DL, Oregon
The former Oregon big man is an expert at plugging holes in the middle of the line and stacking blockers to open up lanes for his linebackers behind him to make plays. He is a top two DT in this class, and he may not be No. 2. The run stopper uses a variety of moves to get into the back field, and when all else fails, bullies people with his incredible upper body strength and fantasic footwork. He registered 45 tackles, 27 of them solos, got five sacks, forced two fumbles, and recovered two more.
Steelers select DERRICK HARMON 21st overall!
With the 21st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the PittsburghSteelers select…
DT Derrick Harmon - Oregon
ON THE CLOCK: Pittsburgh Steelers
with the 21st overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
Baron has a special blend of speed, agility and feel which makes him one of the most highly prized corners in the class. He ran a sub 4.4 second 40 yard dash, which makes him extremely dangerous when you combine that with his timing and the way he can read quarterbacks. He picked off five passes last year and can bump up in run coverage and get his hands dirty between the hedges. He had 67 tackles 46 of them solo, and even got a sack coming off the edge in his last year in Texas.
Broncos select Jahdae Barron 20th overall!
With the 20th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the DenverBroncos select…
CB Jahdae Barron - Texas
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
He was the best wide receiver on the best team in the nation. Egbuka is a heady pass catcher that knows how to get open against a zone look. He didn’t have the best of QB’s in the nation, but was able to catch 81 passes for 1,0111 yards and score 10 TDs. He can get north and south on those crossing routes, and when he gets a chance to showcase his downfield ability with a quarterback that can make those throws we may see a different dynamic in his game. That QB will be Baker Mayfield and you know he will be able to get the best out of this rookie WR, especially with Mike Evans on the other side of the field.
ON THE CLOCK: Denver Broncos
with the 20th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Bucs select Emeka Egbuka 19th overall!
With the 19th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select…
WR Emeka Egbuka - Ohio State
Grey Zabel, OG, North Dakota State
This is a multifacted, multitalented lineman that can play in each and every position on the line. He had a great Senior Bowl, and had a fantastic combine. You may not have seen him each Saturday, but he dominated at North Dakota State, and will be looking to do the same for Sam Darnold and the Seahawks offense.
ON THE CLOCK: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
with the 19th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Seahawks select GREY ZABEL 18th overall!
With the 18th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the SeattleSeahawks select…
OG Grey Zabel - North Dakota State
ON THE CLOCK: Seattle Seahawks
with the 18th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Shemar Stewart, EDGE, Texas A&M
Stewart’s raw talent and physicality makes him one of the more promising EDGE rushers in the class. He’s a freakish athlete with great size at 6’5”, 267 lbs. His numbers weren’t great with the Aggies, registering just 11 tackles for a loss and 4.5 sacks in three seasons. He is a tireless worker, and never gives up on a play. He had a great combine, finishing top five among EDGE players in four of the most important drills, and will only get better as his career in the NFL progresses.
Bengals select SHEMAR STEWART 17th overall!
With the 17th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals select…
DE Shemar Stewart - Texas A&M
ON THE CLOCK: Cincinnati Bengals
with the 17th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Walter Nolen, DT Ole Miss
Nolan was a beast on the defensive line for Ole Miss this season. At tackle he was a problems for opposing offensive lines, registering 14.5 tackles for a loss and 6.5 sacks from the interior of the defensive line. He is a versatile lineman who is shifty enough to get around blocks, but powerful enough to go through them when he needs to. He’s quick enough and fit enough to chase down tackles and has a motor that won’t quit.
Cardinals select WALTER NOLEN 16th overall!
With the 16th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Arizona Cardinals select…
DT Walter Nolen - Ole Miss
ON THE CLOCK: Arizona Cardinals
with the 16th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia
Pick your poison for Walker, who lined up as a linebacker and an edge rusher with the Georgia Bulldogs last year. He has all the attributes you hope to have in an edge rusher, with his ability to shift around the tackles on either side of the line, and in the middle of the defense he can spy on QBs, and pressure them when he needs to or drop back in coverage and get his hands on passes or lay out receivers coming over the middle. He had 61 tackles, deflected two passes and registered 6.5 sacks in his third and final year in Athens.
Falcons select JALON WALKER 15th overall!
With the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the AtlantaFalcons select…
DE Jalon Walker - Georgia
ON THE CLOCK: Atlanta Falcons
with the 15th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
Before leaving Happy Valley, Tyler Warren left his legacy with the Penn State Nittany Lions. He set program records for total TDs (25), receptions (153), receiving yards (1,839) and receiving TDs (19) at the tight end position. Penn State has never been known as a tight end school, but Warren might change that. He can line up basically anywhere on the field, and at 6’6” and over 250 he has size and speed that will make him a match up nightmare. He can catch the ball, but what he can do in the open field with the ball in his hands may be even more impressive.
Colts select TYLER WARREN 14th overall!
With the 14th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the IndianapolisColts select…
TE Tyler Warren - Penn State
ON THE CLOCK: Indianapolis Colts
with the 14th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
At 6’4” and over 330, he gets off the line well and has strong hands that can push lineman around and create space to sneak into the backfield. He has an ability to plug up running holes and get some pressure on the QB once he breaks through. He deflected 12 passes and has a keen sense of when the QB is going to throw the ball, and how to time his jump. He had 32 tackles, 18 solos, 3 sacks and a couple of fumble recoveries last year for the Wolverines.
Dolphins select KENNETH GRANT 13th overall!
With the 13th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the MiamiDolphins select...
DT Kenneth Grant - Michigan
Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama
Booker might be the best guard in the class. At least the best guard that you have seen on a consistent basis over the course of the year. He’s got a big body that moves pretty well thanks to some solid footwork. He’s powerful off the line, and his 6’5” 321 lbs frame makes it hard for defenders to get around him once they choose a side to rush. He's smart. He's strong. He's a leader. This could be what the Cowboys need looking towards the future.
ON THE CLOCK: Miami Dolphins
with the 13th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Cowboys select TYLER BOOKER 12th overall!
With the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the DallasCowboys select...
OT Tyler Booker - Alabama
Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia
After Abdul Carter, we have to talk about Mikel Williams as one of the top EDGE rushers in this class. At 6’5” he’s a tank that uses brut strength to get to the QB. He uses his height as leverage, and his strength to clear lineman out of the way. He played through an ankle injury for most of the year, which might have hindered his stats in a year he finished with 21 tackles, 15 solos, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.
ON THE CLOCK: Dallas Cowboys
with the 12th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
49ers select MYKEL WILLIAMS 11th overall!
With the 11th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the SanFrancisco49ers select...
DE Mykel Williams - Georgia
Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
Loveland is your prototypical tight end who isn’t the fastest or the most agile, but he can get down the field, and make plays with his soft hands. He’s a big boy, at 6’6” 248 lbs, and can drop down on the line and run and pass protect. He didn’t run a 40 yard dash at the combine, but he has shown a skill set which is similar to Sam LaPorta of the Detroit Lions. He was in a system that didn’t fling the ball around too often in Ann Arbor but he ended last season with 56 catches, 582 yards and 5 TDs. This season he will have Caleb Williams, a young QB, who is going to need the help of his TE.
ON THE CLOCK: San Francisco 49ers
with the 11th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Bears select COLSTON LOVELAND 10th overall!
With the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the ChicagoBears select...

NFL SCHEDULE DROP!
May 14! Save the date: That's when the NFL will officially release its full 2025 schedule!
ON THE CLOCK: Chicago Bears
with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Kelvin Banks Jr., OL, Texas
Banks was a mainstay on the Longhorns offensive line for the last three year. Playing left tackle he was an effective run blocker, getting off the line quickly for a 6’5, 300 pounder. He is a natural at working into the second level and aiding some big runs for his backs. He’s got big hands, and can protect the edge with his long wing span and quick step.
Saints select Kelvin Banks Jr. ninth overall!
With the ninth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints select...
OT Kelvin Banks Jr. - Texas
ON THE CLOCK: New Orleans Saints
with the ninth overall pick in the 2025 Draft!
Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
This guy is the most highly touted pass catcher in the draft class. Maybe not the most explosive WR off the line, but his ability to sell routes and change direction makes him incredibly prone to separate from defenders. He is smart and knows how to find pockets in the defense, and can go up and get those 50-50 balls on the rare occasion he can’t shake his defender during his route. He had 84 catches for 1,319 yards and 8 TDs, which was a bit of a dip from his sensational sophomore season, but this kid is NFL ready now. Bryce Young is going to have another weapon on the offensive side in Carolina.
Panthers select Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall
With the eighth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select...
WR Tetairoa McMillan - Arizona
ON THE CLOCK: Carolina Panthers
with the eighth overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
Membou is a top 10 talent in this draft and the most highly prized offensive tackle coming out of this class. He ran a 4.91 second 40 yard dash, and at 332 pounds, his speed isn’t what makes him stand out. He was top 10 in all of the major drills in the combine for offensive tackles, and between the hedges he is a monster. He has excellent mobility which combines perfectly with his big frame and outstanding push off the line. He can pass protect but he can also get to the second level and seal off linebackers in the run game.
Jets select Armand Membou seventh overall!
With the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select...
OT Armand Membou - Missouri
Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State
Jeanty was the leading rusher in the nation by a long shot. He put up jaw dropping numbers with his fantastic blend of power, shiftiness and ability to break tackles. The explosive back had 2,601 yards rushing, averaging 7 yards a carry and scored 29 TDs for the Broncos. He is with out question the best back in the class, the only question coming into the draft was who would take a chance on a running back this high in the draft? It's the Raiders bringing in the best back in college football last year.
ON THE CLOCK: New York Jets
with the 7th overall pick in the 2025 Draft
Raiders select Ashton Jeanty sixth overall
With the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Las Vegas Raiders select...
RB Ashton Jeanty - Boise State
Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
The big boy in the middle of the Wolverines defense was a top run defender in the nation. He plugged up the middle of the line despite garnering plenty of attention from opposing offensive lineman, and had 45 tackles in 2024. He also registered 3.5 sacks, and has a knack of getting his hands up in passing lanes and tipping balls at the line. Graham will be teaming up with newly signed Myles Garrett on the Cleveland D Line.
Browns select MASON GRAHAM fifth overall!
With the fifth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the ClevelandBrowns select...
DT Mason Graham - Michigan
Will Campbell, OT, LSU
The LSU Tiger was a top rated pass protector coming into the draft. He is strong, swift, and agile. He can get off the line quick and sticks to his blocks better than most or all other tackles in the class. His sub 5 second 40 impressed scouts, but his arm length (32 7/8 inches) was a concern coming into the draft. He may not be able to change the length of this arms, but he can fine tune what he already does really well at the next level and is expected to be a top pass protector thanks to his technique, size and athleticism. Campbell is going to be responsible for protecting the Pats face of the franchise, Drake Maye.
ON THE CLOCK: Cleveland Browns
with the fifth overall pick after trading with the Jaguars
Patriots select WILL CAMPBELL fourth overall
With the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots select...
OT Will Campbell - LSU
Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
Not just considered the top EDGE rusher in the draft, but widely acknowledged as the best talent in this draft class. He’s got the perfect size for pass rusher and his elite speed and agility could to make him one of the top EDGE players in the game. He had 68 tackles, 43 of them solo, 12 sacks and forced 2 fumbles in his final year in Happy Valley.
Giants select Abdul Carter third overall!
With the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New York Giants select...
DE Abdul Carter - Penn State
Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado
He’s certainly the most versatile player in the draft, having played both ways at corner and wide receiver. He won the Heisman Trophy after picking seven passes off in the last two year. He had 11 pass deflections this past year and 35 tackles on the defensive end. On the other side of the ball, he was also a 1,000 yard receiver, dragging in 96 catches for 1,258 yards for 15 TDs. Whether he plays both ways in the NFL will be determined at another point, but whichever side of the ball he plays, he is going to be an impact player.
Jaguars select TRAVIS HUNTER second overall

Big early trade
Here is what the blockbuster trade that took a matter of minutes to work out looks like between the Jags and Browns.
Jaguars on the clock!
The Jaguars have traded with the Cleveland Browns for the second overall pick!
Cam Ward, QB, Miami
The former Hurricane has long been expected to be the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He is a pass first quarter back who can sling it into tight spaces, has a cannon for an arm and fantastic escapability. He is accurate, he is intelligent, and he is a fantastic decision maker. He led the nation, throwing 39 touchdowns and just seven interceptions last year at Miami, and was second in the country with 4,313 passing yards.

Roger Goodell introduced the 2025 NFL Draft by telling the crowd that people thought Green Bay was too small to hold a draft, but though it's small, "it's mighty".
He welcomed Packers greats Clay Matthews, Jordi Nelson, Mason Crosby, Ahman Green, James Jones, and superfan Lil Wayne to the stage.

Milroe dressed in luxury attire
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe is making a statement at the 2025 NFL Draft in a stylish Chrome Hearts suit, though he's not projected to be a first-round pick. Despite his flashy draft night appearance, most experts expect him to go in the second round, with ESPN projecting him to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 68 overall.
Milroe is seen as a highly polarizing prospect. NFL coaches and scouts agree he's a phenomenal running quarterback, often compared to Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, and Cam Newton, due to his athleticism and power. However, they also acknowledge his accuracy issues as a passer.
Top draft prospect Travis Hunter was in the media for more than just his Heisman Trophy a few months ago. This is what happened with his girlfriend.
From home confinement to Lambeau: top NFL prospect's dad attends draft
Some experts are ranking Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart ahead of Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft quarterback class.
Life after the NFL Draft for those not selected…
Ever wonder about those players who don’t get selected? Every year, thousands of college football players across the United States dream of hearing their name called, but only a small fraction of those players actually get selected.
Shedeur Sanders: NFL boom or bust?
As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders remains one of its most polarizing figures, with projections on his draft position fluctuating widely.
Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty is one of the 2025 NFL Draft's top prospects, but he may not be going to the team he supports.
Mason Graham: No quit, all grit
Mason Graham is a dominant interior lineman expected to be selected in the first round. He’s widely regarded as the best at his position in this draft class, praised for his strength, quickness, and disruptive ability despite not having elite size or sack numbers at Michigan.
While many teams have several picks, one team is stuck with only a few.
No, it’s not because he’s afraid he won’t get picked in the first round.
The infamous chime
When a team is on the clock, we’re accustomed to hearing the infamous jingle. But in 2006, for some unknown reason, it was silent when the top 7 picks were announced...
Speaking of Sanders…what about the Steelers?
The Steelers stirred up some gossip when they met with Shedeur Sanders earlier this month. If he does indeed slide in the draft, they could potentially be interested, although I don’t personally see them as a good fit together. They need a quarterback though and the never-ending Aaron Rodgers saga could lead them nowehere.
What of Shedeur?
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders - son of Deion Sanders, who was also his coach at Colorado - was once projected to be the clear No. 2 QB behind Cam Ward in the 2025 NFL Draft. But lately, he’s fallen in the mocks.
Sanders has unquestionable accuracy and playmaking abilities, but there are concerns that his limited velocity on deeper throws, mechanical inconsistencies, and tendency to drift in the pocket will cause challenges for pro-style offenses that rely on precise timing and vertical passing.
Still, I don’t think it would be surprising to see Sanders get selected in the top five, as he would fit both the Giants and the Browns’ schemes and personnel.
Welcome, cheeseheads
We interrupt this football talk for a VERY important poll and one I personally can get behind. It’s a tough choice, but I’m going for the controversial pick of goat cheese. It’s a unique and underrated talent, and I think it deserves a shot.
One rookie who will be worth drafting in your fantasy league
While Travis Hunter is no doubt an incredible talent, which team drafts him and whether or not he’ll play two positions make him a big question mark for fantasy leagues.
Another rookie, however, should be a safe bet. Running back Ashton Jeanty is one of the best RB prospects the league has seen in the last decade. He’s projected to be drafted seventh overall, but no matter which team he ends up with, he should be an impact player as long as he’s given the RB1 role on that team.
Tradition continues…boooooooooooooo
If you’re new here, you may soon be wondering why the heck everyone is booing NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Well, it’s tradition you see, and it dates back to 2006, but really gained traction in 2017. I’ll let you guess which fanbase had the loudest boos that year.
Abdul Carter: The next Micah Parsons
Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter led the nation in tackles for loss (23.5) and earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2024. Learn about one of the draft’s top defensive prospects for the 2025 NFL Draft.
The 3 NFL teams who have never picked first in the NFL Draft
In case you’re unfamiliar, the NFL draft order is decided by taking the reverse order of the finish from the previous season, so the team with the worst record picks first, and the Super Bowl winner picks last in each round.
Of course, with trades, the order can and does change quite a bit by the time draft day arrives. Still, there are three NFL teams who’ve never had the opportunity to select No. 1 overall in the draft: the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, and Seattle Seahawks.
Travis Hunter: Two positions, one phenomenon
Projected to go No. 2 overall to the Cleveland Browns, Travis Hunter is a true two-way player who dominates on both sides of the ball. Let’s take a closer look at this phenomenon.
Today is just the first day of the NFL Draft. Tomorrow, Friday, April 25, the draft continues with rounds 2-3 at 7 p.m. ET, and rounds 4-7 will take place on Saturday, April 26 starting at 11 a.m ET.
Cam Ward: No. 1 overall pick?
Quarterback Cam Ward’s journey to becoming the likely No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is one of the most improbable in recent memory. A zero-star recruit out of West Columbia, Texas, Ward didn’t receive a single Division I scholarship offer out of high school due to playing in a run-heavy Wing-T offense that masked his passing talent.
He eventually landed at FCS school Incarnate Word, where he lit up the field and transferred to Washington State, then Miami. Over five college seasons, Ward threw a record-breaking 158 touchdown passes, winning the Heisman finalist honors and multiple national awards in 2024. Driven by being overlooked early in his career, Ward’s underdog path fuels his competitive fire as he prepares to enter the NFL as a top prospect.
2025 NFL Draft order
The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick after going 3-14 in the 2024 regular season. They’re predicted to pick quarterback Cam Ward first overall. The Philadelphia Eagles, last year’s Super Bowl champions, will have the last pick in the first round.
Interestingly, there have been no first-round picks traded yet - a first for the league since the NFL merger. However, there’s still time for that to happen today during the draft.
As things stand now, here is the full draft order for the first round:
