Patrick Mahomes' historic NFL milestone in Christmas win vs Steelers
The Kansas City Chiefs are on their way to a Super Bowl three-peat with the help of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who set another historic record this week.

The Kansas City Chiefs took one more step in their path to a Super Bowl three-peat on Christmas Day with a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers that sealed their spot atop the AFC. They’ll now get the first-round bye in the playoffs and home-field advantage in the Divisional Round.

While there’s been a lot of talk about the historic record tight end Travis Kelce set during that game, becoming the Chiefs tight end with the most touchdown receptions, credit must be given to quarterback Patrick Mahomes as well. Not only is he a huge reason the Chiefs have become the dynasty they are now, but he also happened to set a record during the game on Wednesday.
Mahomes' historical NFL record set on Christmas Day
The Chiefs' season has admittedly had some low moments, but no matter what, they keep finding ways to win. At 15-1, their only loss came against the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. Their latest win was a 29-10 dominant victory over the Steelers on Christmas Day.
Mahomes finished the game with 29 completions on 38 attempts for 320 yards and three touchdowns. And that third touchdown pass happened to set a historic milestone.
That pass was Mahomes' 245th touchdown pass of his career, which surpassed NFL legend Peyton Manning (244) for the most touchdown passes in a player’s first eight seasons in the league.

- It is the first time Kansas City has won 15 regular-season games in franchise history.
- Patrick Mahomes now has the most touchdown passes (245) for a quarterback in his first 8 NFL seasons, passing Peyton Manning (244).
- Travis…
What makes this record even more impressive is that Mahomes barely played in his rookie season, appearing in just one game in which he did not throw a touchdown pass. That means Mahomes accomplished this feat in just seven full seasons.
And he didn't even throw a TD as a rookie. So let's make this more clear.

He threw the most amount of TDs by any QB in his first 8 seasons in 7 seasons.
