In the lively atmosphere of New Orleans' Bourbon Street during Super Bowl LIX week, an unexpected – well, not according to some of the online commenters – confrontation unfolded between two former MLB pitchers: Patrick Mahomes Sr. and John Rocker.

A video circulating on social media (which you can see below) captures the incident. Rocker approaches Mahomes Sr. – more known these days for his superstar quarterback son – with a drink in hand, greeting him with, “What’s up, dude?” The interaction quickly escalates as Mahomes Sr. appears to respond aggressively, leading to a heated exchange of expletives.

Those with them intervene to separate the two before the situation worsens. As Mahomes Sr. is being led away, Rocker throws his drink at him, and the video cuts off at that point.

The exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear, and no punches were thrown during the incident, at least the part we’re aware of. It’s worth noting that Mahomes Sr. is currently serving five years of probation after pleading guilty to his third DWI charge in August of last year.
