While waiting to find out what happens with the future of Kylian Mbappé, PSG have decided to take on the transfer market head on at the end of July. As confirmed in France, Nasser Al Khelaïfi, in addition to Ousmane Dembélé, for whom they are prepared to pay €50 million, have also accelerated negotiations over the last few hours to sign Randal Kolo Muani.

The 24-year-old striker was not initially a priority for PSG, who had chosen Bayern-bound Harry Kane as their preferred striker as well as weighing up a potential move for Victor Osimhen. However, the difficulties of both signings have forced the French team to turn their attention to Randal Kolo Muani, who had a fantastic season in the Bundesliga and who would also occupy a French place on the squad list for the Champions League.

Will Mbappé be sold to make way for Kolo Muani?

Kolo Muani’s signature would be the third French signing that PSG have made after Lucas Hernández and Ousmane Dembélé (yet to be finalised), and there is a reason behind this choice. In order for PSG to play in Europe’s top competition, the Champions League, there must be at least eight players who have been brought up in France, something that has weighed heavily in the rapidly-intensifying negotiations.

How much would Kolo Muani cost?

Kolo Muani, scorer of 15 goals and provider 14 assists last season in Germany, in addition to having established himself as a fundamental piece in the French national team in the World Cup in Qatar, could be the replacement for Kylian Mbappé. However, despite this obvious leap of logic, L’ Équipe say that his signing is independent of the departure of Mbappé. As for the price, which is not confirmed, it is said that PSG would be prepared to offer around €70 million for the 24-year-old.

Luis Campos had declared in private several weeks ago that his transfer had been ruled out, but the road blocks that PSG have hit in their attempts in signing Harry Kane and Osimhen have forced Al Khelaïfi, who has also been key in persuading Ousmane Dembélé, to lead the negotiations in signing one of France’s top talents.
