Spain is officially world champion for the second time, and the celebrations aren’t slowing down. As fans flood the streets, one of La Roja’s breakout stars — Marc Cucurella — is suddenly trending for the bold promises he made before Spain lifted the trophy.

Right after the final whistle, the new Real Madrid defender doubled down on one of his most talked‑about pledges: getting a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente’s face.

“I need to figure out where I’m getting the Luis de la Fuente tattoo! It’s going to be visible. I’ll think about it on the flight home,” he said, still buzzing from the win.

There’s even speculation he might show up to Monday’s victory parade in Madrid already inked. On Instagram, he jokingly asked followers if anyone knew a tattoo artist who could take on the job.

The promise fans now want him to keep

Another old comment from Cucurella has resurfaced — and gone viral — with fans urging him to follow through. In a past interview with Movistar, he joked:

“If I win the World Cup, I’ll call Luis the next day and tell him I’m retiring from the national team. Don’t count on me ever again. After a Euro and a World Cup, you can’t ask for anything more.”

Of course, he said it with a smile — and no one believes he’s actually stepping away. Spain’s supporters are already chanting for more Cucurella, and there’s no sign he’s going anywhere.

There will be plenty of Cucurella in the years ahead.
