All good things come to an end, and so do great ones. FC Barcelona Femení's amazing winning streak of 708 days is finally over after they drew 1-1 with Sevilla in Liga F. The winning run had lasted for 61 league matches in which they had won two titles without dropping a single point. Barça went behind after Martín-Prieto opened the scoring for the home side and it took a late Ana Crnogorčević goal to make sure Giráldez’s team left the stadium with something to show for their efforts.

Prior to this draw, the last time Barça dropped points in domestic competition was back in 2021, when they lost 4-3 to Atlético Madrid in the league. Since then they have not stoped winning, despite star player Alexia Putellas being out for most of this incredible run.

Barcelona can finish a perfect season with European victory

Despite the end of the winning run, it is not the end of the unbeaten streak, which still continues. In the UEFA Women’s Champions League, their last loss came in the final of last year’s tournament against Olympique Lyon, but this year they will look to put things right. On June 3rd they play against Wolfsburg in the final, who overcame Arsenal in the final minute of extra-time at the Emirates Stadium to make it to the last stage of the tournament. Barça, for their part, fought to a tough 2-1 aggregate win over Chelsea, drawing 1-1 at Camp Nou to take them through.
