Inter Miami pre-season update: club confirm first pre-season match against El Salvador
Lionel Messi’s MLS side will face the El Salvador National Team as part of their 2024 pre-season preparations.
Inter Miami are already thinking about the 2024 season after a bittersweet campaign in which they managed to complete the best transfer window in the history of Major League Soccer by signing Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. Unfortunately, it was not enough and the side did not make the MLS 2023 playoffs.
Now, however, there is talk that they will continue with Beckham’s dream team idea with players such as Luis Suárez, as the club seek to make history in the United States with the 8-time Ballon d’Or winning Argentine as the poster boy.
Through their social networks, Inter Miami confirmed that the first game of their 2024 pre-season will be against the El Salvador National Team at the Cuscatlán Stadium in January. They will also play River Plate as part of their schedule after it emerged that their game against Flamengo had been called off.

Inter Miami CF , who recently sold out of season tickets, announced that they will take on the El Salvador national team at the Estadio Cuscatlán in San Salvador on Friday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET for the club’s first preseason match of 2024.
“We’re excited to start announcing our preseason plans and preparations ahead of a thrilling 2024 campaign. How can I get tickets to see El Salvador vs Inter Miami?
“Los Cuscatlecos are helmed by Rubén de la Barrera, a Spanish manager with extensive coaching experience at the club level. El Salvador, which often features players from MLS and other leagues in the region, most recently earned a pair of draws in friendlies against Curaçao in November. The team also competed in the 2023 editions of the Concacaf Gold Cup and Nations League earlier this year”, said the statement on the official page of the club.
“Additional information, including ticketing and broadcast details, will be announced at a later date”, meaning that we will have to wait for further information as to how exactly to obtain a ticket to see Messi and co start the new campaign.
