With Portugal’s elimination from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Cristiano Ronaldo headed back to Europe from the Middle East. However, the Portuguese attacker faces the last weeks of December as a free agent having parted ways with former club Manchester United, and given the uncertainty over his future Ronaldo decided to return to his former club, Real Madrid, to prepare for the winter market.

This newspaper has confirmed that the 37-year-old is training at Real Madrid Sports City in Valdebebas, in the north of the Spanish capital, while waiting to find out news about his future. The Portuguese star is spending a few days at his home in Madrid and personally asked Florentino Pérez for permission to train at the facilities and the Real Madrid president has given the okay to do so.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s search for a new club causing tension with agent Jorge Mendes

The Real Madrid legend from Madeira is about to turn 38, and it won’t be simple to find a role for him in today’s market. Maintaining a presence in Europe is made more difficult by his financial demands. His agent Jorge Mendes is now working on a novel alternate solution, but the pressure to find a club for the player has led to tension between the two.

Since the Portuguese star announced his departure from Real Madrid, new actors have emerged in the Middle East who appear inclined to take action in response to Ronaldo’ses demands, widening the gap between the the player and his agent. Al Nassr, a Saudi Arabian club, has made the most headlines for their outrageous offer ($200 million for the player), prompting Ronaldo to comment on the rumor: “There is nothing in it.”

These proposed operations, though, come from outside Mendes’ circles and suggest that the CR7 is no longer only listening to his long-time agent. The player’s future is up in the air, and their relationship is going through a rocky spell. At least he still has a place to train in Madrid.
