Major League Soccer is slowly increasing its importance in the global leagues and more big stars are choosing to continue their career in the United States’ top tier. Gareth Bale is the latest player to arrive in MLS and he will be formally introduced for Los Angeles FC on Monday and could make his debut on 17 July against Nashville SC.

Sergio Busquets on the MLS radar

Another player that had several offers on the table to play in Major League Soccer for the second part of the 2022 regular season was Sergio Busquets. The Spanish international will become a free agent next summer and he has been approached by a few MLS clubs.

Busquets turned down the offers because he wants to remain at Camp Nou this season but there have been no formal negotiations regarding a contract extension. So the 33-year-old might be playing his last season with FC Barcelona and several MLS clubs will try to sign him during the next transfer window.

It will be a tough decision for Busquets when his time is up in the Catalan capital because several reports indicate the Spaniard wants to play in MLS like his compatriot David Villa. So Next summer he will be once again approached by several clubs and a decision could be made in January.
