Pachuca champion of the Liga MX: how many titles do they have?
Toluca arrived for the 2022 Apertura final second leg with a faint glimmer of hope and left on the back of a resounding beating.
When the two finalists had been confirmed, most of us were looking forward to a pulsating and close double header to decide the 2022 Apertura final. Toluca, as it turned out, would be devastated in the first leg (5-1) meaning there was little hope of the second being competitive. A 3-1 win for Pachuca sealed the title in emphatic style, 8-2 on aggregate.

Los Tuzos came oh so close to taking the Clausura title just a few months ago, while also finished runners-up in last year’s final. This was to be the moment they clinched the trophy again.
They had previously bagged six top flight titles in the Mexican game, with those success coming at Invierno 1999, Invierno 2001, Apertura 2003, Clausura 2006, Clausura 2007, Clausura 2016. The 2022 Apertura makes it seven.
The team has also featured in four other title finals where they have come off second best.
