Shock absentee hands Arsenal new Premier League blow against Wolves
Already without the injured Bukayo Saka, The Gunners are without another key player for their away game against Wolves at Molineux.

Arsenal are just about hanging onto the coat tails of Premier League leaders Liverpool and will be desperately hoping not to drop more points in Saturday’s game away to Wolves. Already without star attacker Bukayo Saka, another key player, captain Martin Odegaard, will also miss the clash at Molineux.
Why isn’t Martin Odegaard playing for Arsenal against Wolves in the Premier League?
Odegaard missed a number of games for both Arsenal and Norway earlier in the season because of an ankle injury, although he has started each of the last 12 Premier League fixtures.
That sequence comes to an end today, however. The 26-year-old hasn’t been included in Mikel Arteta’s squad for the game due to illness.
To make matters worse, fellow midfielder Mikel Merino is also out because of a minor knock.
How long will Odegaard be out for?
The only positive news is that Odegaard, like Merino, isn’t expected to be absent for long.
Arsenal will be hoping to have their captain back for Wednesday’s Champions League game away to Girona. A point in Catalonia will guarantee The Gunners progress to the round of 16 directly, avoiding the playoff round.
Arsenal’s hopes of winning a first Premier League title since 2004 have been hampered by recent draws against Brighton and Aston Villa, which have seen them fall six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand.
