Adidas launch 90s inspired World Cup EQT range with no let-up in demand for retro wear
The German sportswear giant continues its World Cup product push with a range inspired by the 1990s look.

The 1990s.... Blur vs Oasis, Friends on TV, time wasted playing Pokemon on the Nintendo Game Boy, watching South Park late on a Friday night, the rise of Britney Spears and boy bands, Britpop domination, the brilliance of The Simpsons and an alternative grunge culture that seeped into high street fashion with baggy being the way to go.
Modern sports brands have been astute at tapping into this 90s fashion aesthetic with a demand for retro wear a hit with those who lived it first time around and a younger demographic who are captivated by the vintage element.
This has not been lost on Adidas as they launch their 1990s EQT range on the eve of the 2026 World Cup with the offer featuring the likes of Spain, Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Colombia and Japan.

Adidas claim that the collection is: ‘created as a commercial expression of football culture ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the collection reinterprets the classic adidas EQT design codes from the perspective of the national teams, combining bold colour blocks, symmetrical details and silhouettes inspired by historical archives with a contemporary style’.

The collection for each national team features four pieces: track top, track pants, t-shirt and shorts all with a strong 90s vibe.
