Stoichkov tells Figo: "If I see you in Barcelona, I'll insult you"
Said half jokingly on a television programme produced and broadcast by Univisión, the Portuguese ex-player was asked if he still has problems on the street in Barcelona.
"If I see you see around Barcelona, I'll insult you", Hristo Stoichkov said directly to Luis Figo in a programme produced and broadcast by US Spanish-English broadcaster Univision. While he is a fluent English speaker, the Portuguese former player was interviewed in Spanish for a programme in which Stoichkov is a regular contributor and he was asked about his playing days with Barça and Madrid.
Figo declared that he never regretted signing for Real Madrid and didn't want to make any comments about Florentino Pérez, when asked whether the president played a hand in his departure from the club. When asked whether Cristiano Ronaldo could be proclaimed the best Portuguese player of all time, Figo replied that for him, no one has been greater than the legendary Eusébio.
Following the presenters' questions, Hristo Stoichkov took his turn, asking Figo half jokingly: "Do you get insulted by the public when you go to Barcelona?" to which Figo wryly responded, "No, only by you!". Stoichkov chortled, "It's true! if ever I see you in Barcelona, I'll insult you!".
