Sampaoli brings in Lionel Scaloni as aide-de-camp at Sevilla

Assistant

Sevilla announced on Tuesday that ex-Deportivo de La Coruña player Lionel Scaloni has been enlisted as part of Jorge Sampaoli's coaching team. The 38-year-old will act as assistant coach during games and his other task will involve analyzing rival teams. The Argentine, who spent nine seasons in Galicia as part of the 'Super Depor' of the noughties, has already started work in the squad's training sessions and his continuity at the club is directly linked to Sampaoli's.

New technical team

When Unai Emery quit Sevilla to take the PSG job, he took his second and third coaches Juan Carlos Carcedo and Pablo Villa with him as well as analyst Víctor Mañas. Since Sampaoli took over the reins, the tenchical department has been completely overhauled with Lillo, Desio, Matías Manna, Martín Tocalli and Iñigo Domínguez drafted in; the pair who were the team's physical trainers under Emery, Moisés de Hoyo and Sergio Domínguez continue, but in different roles.
