Kroos' message to Neuer after operation: 'Take your time'
Real Madrid midfield maestro Toni Kroos sent a message of support to Bayern's Manuel Neuer, but told him to take his time with Champions League looming
Neuer has undergone a foot operation two weeks before Bayern and Real Madrid face each other in the Champions League quarter-final.
Neuer goes under the knife
The German stopper released a statement through social media, which elicited a surprising response from his compatriot Toni Kroos.
“Yesterday I had a small operation after injuring my left foot in training. Everything went well. Now I’ll work hard to make a quick return to the team”, wrote Neuer on his Twitter account.
Kroos the comedian
Toni Kroos, his former Bayern team-mate and imminent Champions League opponent, wished Neuer luck with his recovery… but not too much.
“I hope you get better. But take your time…”, quipped the Real Madrid midfielder in a witty retort worthy of English singer-songwriter James Blunt, the subject of Kroos’ musical affections, who is known for his humorous remarks on social media.
