Barcelona Under 17 starlet Abel Ruiz could leave
The Barcelona B striker has a 3 million euro buy-out clause and his contract is up in 2019. Barcelona didn't renew his deal before he headed to India.
Abel Ruiz, one of the up and coming stars at Barcelona and a gem of the Spain Under 17 side currently competing in the World Cup in India where he's scored two goals, could become another case of Barcelona losing talented players to their rivals.
Half of Europe interested in Barcelona youngster Abel Ruiz
Abel Ruiz's agents, Sergio Barila and Vicente Ruá, have received numerous offers from big clubs around Europe since the summer, and these have only multiplied since the start of the Under 17 World Cup, which is perfectly showcasing the player's skills. Abel Ruiz has a contract through to 2019 at Barça and a buy-out clause of three million euros.
According to sources consulted by this newspaper, Barila and Rúa spoke to Barcelona about the offers flooding in for the player, and the need to improve the player's terms if they were to rebuff the interest in Ruiz. Barcelona told them that there was no need to worry and that the matter was in hand, but in the end Abel Ruiz flew off to India without a new deal.
Barcelona at risk of losing Ruiz
And now Barcelona look to be at serious risk of losing one of their most promising young players who has come up through the ranks. He was the best player in the Liga Promises Tournament in Brunete (Under 12s), and is a regular in the Juvenil side, when he's not being promoted to the Barcelona B team. He was top scorer in the European Under 17 championships and according to the coaches is a player with an incredible future if he continues to improve.
But now it looks like Barcelona could be facing a major headache when Abel Ruiz gets back from the World Cup in India...
