The Real Madrid fans have spoken. In an online poll carried out by as.com on wednesday, 71% of them believe Florentino Pérez is the one to blame for the currest crisis and, arguably, the most humiliating week in their history. Eliminated by Ajax despite winning the first leg 1-2, beaten by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey despite bringing an away goal advantage (1-1) to the Bernabéu and 12 points off their rivals at the top of the league. 19% of voters believe the fault lies with those in the squad while Solari and Lopetegui have been pointed out as the one to blame by 10%.

The reason behind 71% of the vote going to Perez is based on his attempts to save money over the last few years to remodel the Bernabéu. Since 2015, Real Madrid have spent €359.4 million while Barcelona have invested €797.1 million on improving their squad. Those who blame the squad point to the fact that they are the people on the field and able to affect games. The 10% believe Solari was wrong with many of his decisions and needs to be held accountable.

Various other media outlets have done a similar poll and the results are similar with Perez being blamed in 68% of the outcomes. SER, Cope, Cuatro, Antena 3, La Sexta and Teledeporte are some of the places that tried to get a feel for who Real Madrid fans are blaming and the president appears to be guilty in their eyes. The players recieved 20% of the vote in the same polls and Solari got 12%
