Who won Monday Night Football Week 7?
The New Orleans Saints won their fourth game of the season after beating the Seattle Seahawks 13-10, thanks to last-minute heroics by kicker Brian Johnson.
It was an ugly night at Lumen Field, and the game wasn't much prettier. It was a defensive struggle from start to finish, and the New Orleans Saints pulled out the 13–10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks thanks to a Brian Johnson field goal in the last minutes of the fourth quarter.
Niether of these two teams came into the Monday night game with outstanding offenses, especially Seattle who lost Russell Wilson to a finger injury in Week 5.
For the second straight week Geno Smith was under center for the Seahawks. Smith hasn’t won a game as a starter since 2016 when he was with the Jets. The Saints forced Smith to beat them by stuffing the box with nine defenders all night long.
Seahawks start strong
The Seahawks opened up the scoring with an 84 yard first quarter touchdown by DK Metcalf. That would be the last time Seattle crossed into the endzone.
James Winston had done just enough to keep the Saints season record above .500 coming into Monday, but he hadn’t passed for more than 200 yards since the second week of the season.
Jameis Winston and the Saints took the lead with a touchdown pass to Karama late in the first half to take New Orleans to the break up 10-7.
