Update:

Carson Beck, the quarterback for the Georgia Bulldogs, is gearing up for the NFL Draft with a mix of anticipation and uncertainty.

Beck’s draft projection varies among analysts, with some predicting he could be selected in the third round, while others see him potentially slipping to the fifth round. For instance, College Football Network’s Cam Mellor has the Miami Dolphins selecting Beck in the fifth round with the number 149 overall pick.

However, NFL draft analyst Todd McShay believes Beck made a questionable decision to declare for the draft, especially after undergoing elbow surgery that will sideline him for several months.

How has Carson Beck’s season been in 2024?

Beck’s performance this season has been solid, though not without its challenges. He finished the 2024 season with 3,485 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, achieving a completion percentage of 65.1%.

Despite these respectable stats, his season was marked by inconsistency, which has affected his draft stock. Beck’s ability to make NFL-level throws and his prototypical size of 6’4″, 220 lbs are seen as strengths, but his development has not fully met the high expectations set for him at the beginning of the season.

The Georgia Bulldogs, under Beck’s leadership, had a commendable season, finishing with a 10-2 record. Beck’s contributions were crucial in several key victories, although the team fell short in some critical matchups. His performance in high-pressure games has been scrutinized, and this will be a significant factor for NFL teams considering him.
