Lamar Jackson’s not so cryptic retweet to top NFL defender looking for a new home
Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens came up just short of a return to the Super Bowl but the reigning MVP has sent a clear message to a specific player.

The breaking news from Monday morning that momentarily distracted us from the start of Super Bowl week has caught the reigning MVP’s attention. Myles Garrett told the Cleveland Browns he wants to be traded this offseason and the Ravens gunslinger know exactly where he should go.
Ravens to add a DPOY?
Lamar Jackson had another MVP type season as he led the Ravens to the AFC North title, but after their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the playoffs, Baltimore came up just short of a return trip to the AFC Championship. Mark Andrews had a chance to tie the game against the Bills late in the fourth quarter, but dropped the two point conversion to send the Ravens season.
Baltimore added one of the biggest free agents in the market last year, brining in Derrick Henry from the Tennessee Titans. This offseason, the Ravens QB wants to see a former Defensive Player of the Year join forces as Jackson and Henry chase their first Super Bowl ring.
Since getting drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2017, Garrett has made the Pro Bowl in six of those years, been named to the All-Pro First Team four times and won the Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. He has given his all to the Browns in his time in Cleveland, but in a statement released on Monday morning he wants a chance at a Super Bowl title.
Browns in rebuild mode
Lamar Jackson wasted no time sending a clear message to his former division rival that he saw twice a year since entering then league. The two time MVP retweeted a tweet sent out by @LIVERavenNaiton inviting Garrett to Baltimore.
The Cleveland Browns are in clear rebuilding mode after they tanked this year and finished at the bottom of the AFC North with a record of 3-14. It is most likely they will take a quarterback with their No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft after seeing Deshaun Watson suffer back to back torn achilles injuries.
While the Browns would be hesitant to trade Garrett to a division rival, especially after seeing what happened with the New York Giants and Saquon Barkley this season, they need to rebuild their team so it’s going to come down to how much the Ravens are willing to give up.
