Cowboys LB Micah Parsons is expected to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, but the wait continues to get the historic deal done.
The Dallas Cowboys are heading to training camp next month, and although their star edge rusher said he’d be in attendance, it’s not known to what capacity. Micah Parsons is currently awaiting a contract extension that would make him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, and a Cowboys insider has revealed just how high that number might be.
Parsons awaiting $200M deal from Cowboys
Dallas insider Mike Fisher reports a possible five-year, $200+ million deal for Parsons.
“It’s inevitable and it’s almost inarguable,’’ Fish said. “Micah is going to sign the richest-ever non-QB contract in NFL history.’’
The original prediction of a $40M annual salary could just keep rising the longer the Cowboys wait to get the deal done. Parsons, who skipped voluntary OTAs but returned for mandatory minicamp, warned owner Jerry Jones of exactly that. Players like Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby have already reset the market, but when TJ Watt gets his deal done, it’s likely to reset yet again, and even higher.

Despite uncertainty around the length of the deal, both sides are expected to agree before training camp. Parsons’ extension is widely viewed as the team’s top priority, and finalizing it would cap off an otherwise strong offseason for Dallas.
