Barcelona eye Liverpool’s star winger in sensational summer move
The press in Cataluña have confirmed that the winger is one of the viable options for Barcelona.

Luis Díaz and Barcelona have yet to team up, but rumours have been swirling for two years.
Now, according to Sport, he is considered a viable option for the Catalan team, although the Colombian is not their top choice. The club’s board has Swedish striker Alexander Isak as their first candidate, who has been making a strong impression at Newcastle this season.
For Barcelona’s sporting director Deco, Luis Díaz is among the preferred options. Additionally, Díaz has shown versatility this season, adapting to a new role as a central forward for Liverpool.
Despite a dip in performance over the last two months, he had an impressive start, scoring 12 goals across all competitions—the Premier League, Champions League, and Carabao Cup.

Luis Díaz: Barcelona’s most viable option
While Isak remains the top target, the operation could prove too complex. Newcastle is demanding €100 million, and Arsenal is also vying for the striker. Given Barcelona’s current financial struggles and tight financial fair play regulations, signing Isak might be difficult.
According to reports from the Catalan press, acquiring Luis Díaz is more feasible despite his contract running until 2027. It’s also believed that the Colombian is keen to join one of Spain’s biggest clubs.
“The advantage for Barcelona’s sporting management is that, if Díaz doesn’t renew, the summer of 2026 will be Liverpool’s last chance to cash in on him. This means that if the player withstands the pressure to renew and genuinely wants to become a Barça player, the move could be realistic,” Sport reported.

For now, Luis Díaz remains at Liverpool, though he has lost prominence in recent matches. Arne Slot has become a regular starter, and Díaz has struggled to make the same impact as he did earlier in the season. This dip in form could prompt him to consider new options in the upcoming transfer market.
