Kylian Mbappé is privately upset at PSG treatment, despite his public declaration to stay
According to L’Équipe, the forward is annoyed at the treatment from PSG regarding his future.
On Tuesday, in Japan against Inter, PSG suffered their second consecutive defeat of their pre-season campaign. The team, deprived of both Neymar (injured) and Mbappé (exiled) once again showed that they are a team that still require huge offensive reinforcements to be able to call themselves candidates to win the Champions League.
Meanwhile, in Poissy, on the outskirts of Paris, Kylian Mbappé continues to train alone as the unilateral option to renew until 2025 expires and he automatically receives the €40 million loyalty bonus that is written into his contract.
In private, as reported by L’Équipe, Mbappé is not hiding his dissatisfaction with PSG. The captain of the French national team does not intend to hand any monetary advantage to his club after leaving him out of the tour of Japan. The contract he signed in May 2022 states that, in addition to the loyalty bonus, of which he has received €40 million of €80 million, Qatar must also pay him €60 million euros of the €180 million, divided into three payments, which they agreed to reward for scribbling down his signature on a contract renewal deal last year.
Will Real Madrid make an offer for Mbappé?
PSG, meanwhile, are starting to get nervous regarding the situation, one that they thought could have been solved earlier, especially after leaving out Mbappé from the tour of Japan. Al Khelaïfi, who has already warned the footballer’s entourage that he will leave him in the stands all season if he does not agree to be sold, is still waiting for, according to L’Équipe, an offer from Real Madrid.
In Paris they suspect that Los Blancos will wait until the end of the transfer market to send an offer for Mbappé, well aware that as the days go by his price will be reduced as the Ligue 1 champions find themselves in an increasingly desperate situation.
Mbappé wants to collect his bonuses at PSG
Mbappé himself is in no hurry to move muscles regarding a swift exit, but the team from the French capital certainly are. On several occasions, the attacker has stated that he wants to stay at PSG for the last year of his contract, although it is suspected that this public message is a strategy devised in order to maintain the hefty bonuses that he has written into his deal.
Al Khelaifi’s measures to change the player’s public opinion, as of yet, have not worked. And this week PSG will return from their Asian tour and it will be a key moment in the summer to see if Qatar reinstate Mbappé as a part of the first-team plans or, on the other hand, continue to consider him as a rebel and an exile.
Mbappé is not short of teammates in Paris
While waiting to resolve his future, Mbappé continues to train at the PSG facilities in France along with the other members of the squad who have not been called up for the Asian tour.
