Former Brazilian winger, Zé Roberto, has asked that Neymar be stripped of the national team captaincy following an incident at the end of the French Cup that saw him strike a fan. Some in Brazil have grown tired of Neymar's antics and the protection he receives despite a litany of incidents.

"Not calling him for the Copa América, I think, would be a mistake because he is the main player on the team but punish him by taking the armband off him, I think would be the best option," Zé Roberto said.

Time for Neymar to have a chat to himself and figure things out

The former Real Madrid player says "I think it's time for him to find himself again, look at his career plan and go back to being the player we all expected him to be."

He believed to be the captain you have the set the best example and says Neymar did not do this when he struck the fans who was abusing him after the France Cup final which they lost to Rennes after extra-time and penalties. Neymar was awarded the captaincy last September.
