REAL MADRID
The worst Real Madrid in 20 years
Real Madrid have not lost 17 games since 1998-99 when Hiddink and Toshack had spells in charge and the season isn't even over yet.
The season is not over yet for Real Madrid but it might as well be having already equalled their worst record in the last two decades. After the Anoeta defeat, they now have 17 losses in 56 games this season. They haven't been beaten as many times in a single season for 20 years when Hiddink and Toshack spent time on the bench in 1998-99. They could yet set the all-time record for losses, which they set in 84-85 and again in 95-96 with 52 and 54 games played respectively when they lost 18 games.
In just one year, Real Madrid have suffered almost as many defeats as they in three years during Zidane's first spell (19). In his final year, he lost nine games and in the two previous only lost five in each campaign.
