Broadcast channels confirmed for the first Leagues Cup edition
The MLS and Liga MX will debut the first edition of the tournament in which the two leagues will face each other, starting this summer on July 23.
The summer FIFA tournaments, with the exception of the Africa Cup of Nations, might be over, but the summer is just starting, and the first Leagues Cup edition is about to start, in which two of the most important leagues of North America will face each other to conquer the Continent.
The MLS and Liga MX announced the tournament would be broadcast through ESPN in English and Univision in Spanish in the United States, while TSN and TVA Deportes cover Canada and Televisa Deportes and TUDN in Mexico.
The Leagues Cup will start on July 23 with the games between Chicago Fire and Cruz Azul and Los Angeles Galaxy versus Club Tijuana in a tournament that seeks to grow the sporting rivalry between USA and Mexico.
"The commitment of MLS and Liga MX media partners across the board is to bring Leagues Cup to the widest audience possible is a clear indication of our shared goal of creating a world-class tournament," said Gary Stevenson, Deputy Commissioner and President of MLS business ventures.
