LaLiga testing to start on 28 April, meeting called for Friday

The league have contracted a private company to carry out tests and the idea is to start training again in the second week of May but players remain fearful.

LaLiga met on Wednesday with doctors from first and second division clubs in Spain to let them know that they put in place last week remains in place despite complaints from footballers and managers in the last few days. They also explained that they continue with the plan to isolate the players in hotels and clubs' sporting facilities for 15 days before the restart of the season. They will start the much-talked-about tests on April 28 in an effort to control completely the coronavirus.

LaLiga have communicated to doctors that they have contracted private company SYNLAB to carry out the tests. First, the PCR tests for antibodies and then they will do the serum tests and then rapid tests but the last are the lest reliable. In fact, as Isaac Fouto reports on Cope, the doctors have asked for lists of all people who need to be tested immediately. The idea is to be able to start training in the second week of May.

LaLiga has also planned to meet with AFE on Wednesday to discuss everything related to the tests and the potential return but it has been postponed until Friday. Players have made it clear that they will not follow anyone's advice unless it is from medical officials.

By Friday, players and staff from the first and second division will have met with medical professionals.
