LeBron James delivers good news message to fans
The Los Angeles Lakers legend has opened up on his injury status.

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has spoken during the offseason ahead of the 2025 campaign, revealing his current injury status regarding a Grade 2 MCL sprain that he suffered in Game 5 of his team’s series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaking to the Associated Press, James admitted that “I have a lot of time to take care of my injury, my knee, the rest of my body and make sure I’m as close to 100 percent as possible when training camp begins in late September.”
Speculation surrounding his future has been rife during this period as he recovers, with a $56.2 million player option hanging over him.
‘At this point, you think about when the end is’
When asked about this topic, James, as is often the case, spoke about his children, revealing that they have not pressured him to call it a day on his career: “They’re like, ‘Dad, continue on your dream. This is your dream. Continue on your focus“, he admitted. “You’ve been here for us this whole time. When you have that type of support ... it makes it a lot easier.”
“At this point of my career, you think about when the end is. That’s human nature,” he did admit, adding that “you think, is it this year? Or next year? Those thoughts always creep into your mind at this point of the journey. But I have not given it a specific timetable, date. I’m seeing how my body and family reacts too.”
LeBron, at age 40, appeared in 70 regular-season games and averaged an impressive 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game, ranking him 13th, 22nd, and 6th in the league, respectively. He shot a highly efficient 51.3% from the field. In the playoffs (five games), he stepped up further to 25.4 ppg, 9.0 rpg, and 5.6 apg.
🚨 LeBron James says his knee is ‘good,’ and he’s targeting 100% by training camp. He added that his kids want him to continue his dream:

As for the Lakers, they finished with a 50‑32 record, topping the division and securing the 3rd seed in the Western Conference. Coached by JJ Redick and boosted mid-season by the trade acquisition of Luka Dončic, the Lakers posted strong home (31–10) and road (19–22) splits. They clinched their division and playoff berth, but were upset by the Timberwolves, losing the series 4–1.
