Iborra to stay at Sevilla

Vicente Iborra is staying at Sevilla. A transfer to Premier League side Sunderland had looked set to go through on the final day of the transfer window but it appears as if the midfielder has had a change of heart and decided to stay put. His current contract ties him to Sevilla until 2020.

After some tough negotiations both sides agreed on a €9 million transfer fee with another €1 million due in add-ons but the deal was called off before Iborra was due to travel for a medical. New Sunderland boss David Moyes had targeted 28 year-old Iborra as the ideal midfield reinforcement but will now have to look elsewhere at short notice.
