To contextualize the impact of Tom Brady in the history of the NFL, it is important to verify the numbers and records he has in the postseason, in addition to the most wins in the playoffs - 35 - a stat he was looking to increase in Sunday’s Divisional Round against the Los Angeles Rams, but where came up just short, losing 30-27, as the Rams landed a late field goal to kill off a stunning comeback led by Brady.

To start with, TB12 holds the record for the most games played in the postseason, 46. The active player who comes closest to the quarterback's streak is wide receiver Matthew Slater, who was his New England Patriots teammate for 12 years and has appeared 25 times in the playoffs.

Brady has thrown for 12,720 yards, 1,135 completions and 85 touchdowns in the postseason. And in terms of passing yards, completions and TDs, the Packers' Aaron Rodgers (who crashed out of the playoffs on Saturday) is the only QB who comes close and he only registers 5,669, 481 and 45, respectively.

Nicknamed the 'Comeback Kid' due to his great ability to help his team turn things around and grab the win in the last moments of a game, Brady has done it nine times during the postseason and three times in the Super Bowl (XXXVIII, XLIX and LI). The legendary Joe Montana could only do it five times.

The postseason records Brady doesn't hold

One of the records Brady will be delighted not to hold is for the most fumbles. During his entire career, he’s turned the ball over 14 times in playoff games, but he's second only to Warren Moon, who appeared in 10 postseason games and suffered 16 fumbles.

One other record that's eluded Brady so far is the longest recorded postseason pass, which currently belongs to former Ravens quarterback Trent Dilfer, who connected with Shannon Sharpe for 96 yards in the 2000 AFC Championship. TB12's longest throw is 73 yards, earned in the 2005 postseason in the Divisional Round in connection with Deion Branch.
